Nuclear sensors are vital for detecting and measuring nuclear radiation in applications such as nuclear power generation, medical imaging, and environmental monitoring. However, while traditional sensors have been effective in these applications to date, recent technological advancements have led to the development of new sensor types, offering unique benefits and enhanced performance. A recent review article presents an up-to-date overview of the latest progress in the advancement of nuclear sensor technologies, their diverse applications, challenges in implementation, and opportunities for future research.
