Special cerium doped glass is used in Model 200 zoom lenses to avoid browning or discoloration when exposed to radiation. Using the focus tracking 3x zoom facility on a Model 200 lens, nuclear engineers can image objects from 50mm to infinity without using add-on adapters. When focused at infinity, the lens achieves high image resolution at full aperture throughout the zoom range without refocusing.
