Developments In Nuclear Lens Technology For some time the Nuclear Industry has required that all lenses it uses for remote monitoring cameras and sensors are able to maintain a usable image without browning up to a maximum allowed radiation dosage. Driven by safety considerations the Nuclear Industry has a desire for higher and higher resolution, remote viewing of its operational facilities. For this reason, the uptake of CMOS colour sensors in place of traditional monochrome cameras is increasing. This in turn has necessitated the development of a new generation of non browning lenses as standard radiation resistant optical materials are very yellow and therefore produce images with a yellow tint.
