Typically, navigation systems for autonomous cars use visible light optical sensing systems to identify foreign objects. However, to see oncoming objects through hazardous conditions, optical sensors within the cars need technology that can predict obstacles not immediately evident. A recent article from researchers at the University of Southern California discusses their work to solve this challenge.
