Resolve Optics Ltd. has announced a new high performance 12-72mm Non-Browning Zoom Lens (192-000) that incorporates a range of useful features to assist operation in environments subject to radiation.The compact x6 optical tracking zoom utilises special glass that can withstand long term exposure to high levels of radiation (up to a total dose of 108 rads) and temperature (55 C) without discoloration. Operating at f/1.8 for most focal lengths the lens provides high image resolution and minimum geometric distortion from 400 - 750 nm. The high-performance 192-000 lens has been designed for use with single chip 1/2" and 2/3" CCTV cameras as well as Newvicon and Chalnicon tubes in a variety of monitoring applications including nuclear fuel handling operations, reactor active zones, nuclear waste storage plants, food irradiation processes and radiation cross-linking of polymers. By using a novel telescopic focusing mount the lens gives a large movement in an extremely compact form. This provides the lens with the capability to image objects from 800mm to infinity without using add-on adapters. When focused at infinity the lens achieves high image resolution on axis at full aperture throughout the zoom range without refocusing (image tracking).
